Monthly Meeting Minutes for 24 OCTOBER 2023 – FINAL RECORD COPY

Meeting called to order by President Mike May (KF4FMQ) at 1931 hours EDT.
Attendees: 13 attending members of 41 total: (A quorum was present.)

Previous monthly meeting was 26 SEP 2023. Motion to accept Minutes of meeting as published (via

Past Activities Report:
o Previous Weekly WRARC OTA club net was conducted each Wednesday evening at
2000L on the club’s 2m Repeater.
o Previous WRARC hybrid monthly club meeting was on Tuesday, 26 SEP 2023 (4th
Tuesday of month).
o Previous AMLEG Post 46 D-STAR NET (1st Monday of month) was conducted on 2 OCT
2023 (1st Monday of month).
o Previous monthly general meeting of The American Legion Boyle Post 46 was 1900L
hours on Tuesday, 3 OCT 2023 (1st Tuesday of month).
o Previous WRARC hybrid Coffee Social was on Friday, 6 OCT 2023 (1st Friday of month).
o Previous Club Activity was: FOX HUNT on 14 OCT 2023.
o Previous VEC Testing was: Saturday, 22 JUL 2023 starting at 1000L at The American
Legion Post 46 building, 45 Spears Lane, Danville, KY.
Old Business:
o WRARC Club Dues. Annual club dues for 2024 are now being accepted.
Full Legion members are $30 and can be paid online with a credit card at
www.legion.org and click on “Renew”.
Sons of the American Legion are $20 and can be paid by check.
Legion Associate members are $30 and can be paid by check.
All checks should be made out to “The American Legion Post 46” and mailed to
Ken Douglass, 108 Chandler Drive, Danville, KY 40422.
o As of today, 17 of 41 current members have already paid their dues for 2024.
o Two new members were in attendance; welcome to Sandy Burton (KQ4DDD) and Daniel
Burton (KQ4DDE)
o Bourbon Chase foot race was held on Friday, 6 OCT 2023 on same weekend as Perryville
Battlefield event. WRARC was unable to support this year.
o General info was given on ‘Jamboree-on-the-Air’, or JOTA, which is the largest Scouting
event in the world. It is held annually the third full weekend in October (20 thru 22 OCT
2023).
New Business:
o WRARC Club Dues. Annual club dues for 2024 are now being accepted.

Future Activities:
o Next weekly WRARC OTA club net is each Wednesday evening at 2000L on the club’s 2m
Repeater: 145.310 MHz with -600 kHz offset and Split PL Code 100 Hz (i.e. 100 Hz on
both Tx CTCSS & Rx CTCSS).
o Next VEC Testing: Saturday, 28 OCT 2023 starting at 1000L at The American Legion Post
46 building, 45 Spears Lane, Danville, KY. See http://www.wrarc.com/ve-testing/ for
details. Pre-registration is requested but not required.
o Next WRARC Coffee Social is on Friday, 3 NOV 2023 (1st Friday of month) at 0900L via
ZOOM.
o LOCAL TIME CHANGE on 5 NOV: On the first Sunday in November, at 0200 EDT, clocks
are moved back to 0100 EST.
o Next AMLEG Post 46 D-STAR NET (1st Monday of month) is 2000L on 6 NOV 2023 on
REF56C via our local D-STAR repeater KM4OON, +5 MHz offset, 444.2375 MHz & no PL
tones.
o Next monthly general meeting of The American Legion Boyle Post 46 will be at 1900L
hours on Tuesday, 7 NOV 2023 (1st Tuesday of the month).
o Next Club Activity is another Fox Hunt to be held on 18 NOV at 1300L hours starting at
the AMLEG Bldg.
o Next WRARC hybrid monthly club meeting is on Tuesday, 28 NOV 2023 (4th Tuesday of
month) at 1900L and business session starting at 1930L at The American Legion Post 46
building, 45 Spears Lane, Danville and via ZOOM.
