Monthly Meeting Minutes for 23 JULY 2024 – FINAL RECORD COPY

Meeting called to order by President Mike May (KF4FMQ) at 1930 hours EDT.
Attendees: 11 attending members of 39 total: (A quorum was present.)

Previous monthly meeting was 25 JUNE 2024. Motion to accept Minutes of meeting as published (via
email) by Dennis (K3KZU), 2nd by Peter (KJ4ND). Passed by acclamation.

Past Activities Report:
o Previous VEC Testing was: Saturday, 27 APR 2024 at The American Legion Post 46
building, 45 Spears Lane, Danville, KY.
o Previous Weekly WRARC OTA club net was conducted each Wednesday evening at
2000L on the club’s 2m Repeater.
o Previous WRARC hybrid monthly club meeting was on Tuesday, 25 JUN 2024 (4th
Tuesday of month) at 1900L and business session starting at 1930L at The American
Legion Post 46 building, 45 Spears Lane, Danville and via ZOOM.
o Previous AMLEG Post 46 D-STAR NET (1st Monday of month) previously scheduled for 2
JUL 2024 (1st Monday of month) at 2000L hours.
o Previous monthly general meeting of The American Legion Boyle Post 46 was 1900L
hours on Tuesday, 4 JUL 2024 (1st Tuesday of month) was canceled.
o Previous WRARC Coffee Social was on Friday, 5 JUL 2024 (1st Friday of month) at 0900L
via ZOOM.
o Previous Club Activity was North American QSP Party, RTTY Contest which was held on
20 JUL 2024 at 1400L hours at the Post 46 AMLEG Bldg.
Old Business:
o WRARC By-Laws update; July club meeting for written notification & Aug club meeting
for vote.
o Two visitors in attendance: Bob Bently (KQ4RTE), General Licensee from Harrodsburg &
Skip Kraemer, AMLEG member.
o 2024 Kentucky (statewide seismic) Interoperability Communications Exercise (COMEX) is
scheduled for 12 Aug thru 16 Aug (operating 13-14 Aug). WRARC is backup for state

o Dennis’ new VSO phone: (502) 517-8389.
New Business:
o WRARC Club Dues. Annual club dues for 2025 are now being accepted.
Full Legion members are $40 and can be paid online with a credit card at
www.legion.org and click on “Renew”.
Sons of the American Legion are $20 and can be paid by check.
Legion Associate members are $20 and can be paid by check.
All checks should be made out to “The American Legion Post 46” and mailed to
Ken Douglass, 108 Chandler Drive, Danville, KY 40422.
o As of today, 7 of 39 current members have already paid their dues for 2025.

now scheduled for 14 Aug thru 15 Aug at the WRARC club radio room. WRARC is

o Bourbon Chase is 1st weekend in OCT.
Future Activities:
o Next VEC Testing: Saturday, 27 JUL 2024 starting at 1000L at The American Legion Post

details. Pre-registration is requested but not required.
o Next AMLEG Post 46 D-STAR NET (1st Monday of month) is 2000L on 5 AUG 2024 on
REF56C via our local D-STAR repeater KM4OON, +5 MHz offset, 444.2375 MHz & no PL
tones.
o Next monthly general meeting of The American Legion Boyle Post 46 at 1900L hours on
Tuesday, 6 AUG 2024 (1st Tuesday of the month) has been cancelled.
o Next weekly WRARC OTA club net is each Wednesday evening at 2000L on the club’s 2m
Repeater: 145.310 MHz with -600 kHz offset and Split PL Code 100 Hz (i.e. 100 Hz on
both Tx CTCSS & Rx CTCSS).
o Next WRARC Coffee Social is on Friday, 9 AUG 2024 (1st Friday of month) at 0900L at Red
Rooster.
o Next Club Activity: NA QSO SSB Contest on 17 AUG 2024 at 1800Z (1400L).
o Next WRARC hybrid monthly club meeting will on Tuesday, 27 AUG 2024 (4th Tuesday of
month) at 1900L and business session starting at 1930L at The American Legion Post 46
building, 45 Spears Lane, Danville and via ZOOM.
